Most pieces are crafted from dark chert or basalt, with a few in lighter gray or mottled stone. The work depicts a sled dog team's eagerness to reach the summit of a pass and start down, a point at which the driver will climb onto the runners of his sled for the ride downhill. This example bears the signatures of eleven prominent Alaska dog sled mushers who won the Iditarod from 1973-1985. Those mushers include Dick Wilmarth (1973), Carl Huntington (1974), Emmitt G. Peruvian Shipibo-Conibo Figural Pottery Jar

A large ceramic jar featuring elaborate black-on-cream geometric surface designs in the distinctive style of the Shipibo-Conibo people of the Peruvian Amazon. The ovoid form tapers to a narrow foot and rises into a short neck, with a stylized human face sculpted at the shoulder. The surface is fully decorated with labyrinthine linear motifs, traditionally interpreted as visual maps of the cosmic order, rivers, and energy flows. The lower portion of the vessel is left in natural red clay tones, offering contrast to the incised and painted upper body. A visible fissure runs across the base, up the side, and across the back, as photographed, and does not appear repaired. Measures approximately 14.5" in diameter, 12" tall.

Rie Munoz’s legacy endures as one of Alaska’s most iconic artists, her work capturing the spirit of its people and places with enduring appeal. The piece depicts characters in a traditional long canoe, reaching out to a frog, a print from the c.1977 book Kahtahah by Frances Lackey Paul, which Rie illustrated. The image and text are in brown, on complementary cream-toned paper. A trio of beautifully carved Tlingit or Haida wooden implements includes a carved wooden walking stick, halibut hook, and totemic figure. The walking stick is intricately carved along the shaft with a vertical sequence of stacked effigies, including stylized human and animal forms rendered in relief, each with distinct facial features and appendages. The wood surface shows a warm, natural patina from handling, with further carvings at the grip end. The halibut hook, a classic fishing implement of coastal peoples, is formed from two joined pieces of wood bound together at an angle, one side carved with shallow effigy imagery and the other fitted with an iron barb. These hooks were designed with a curved profile that encouraged the selective catching of larger halibut, a practice with deep cultural and subsistence significance. Also included is a small totemic carving, vertically stacked in miniature with stylized figures, likely created as a decorative or narrative piece. A signed and numbered 181/183 serigraph entitled "Woman-Bear Legend" by Alaska artist Rie Munoz (1921-2015). The work illustrates the legend in which two women went up the mountain every day to snare squirrels, one getting squirrels, the other always stopping at a clearing part way up the mountain and eating berries all day long. One evening, as the woman came down to the clearing with her day's squirrel harvest, she saw her friend on all fours eating berries, and as she approached, her friend turned into a black bear. Titled lower left, numbered lower center, and signed lower right by the artist, the work is shrink-wrapped on board. Print measures approximately 15" x 22".

A vintage St. Paul Folk Singers Centennial Concert silkscreen poster in a groovy 1970s style, by Alaska artist Rie Munoz (1921-2015) and Juneau, Alaska artist Jay Crondahl (b.1935), signed lower center. The poster advertises the Centennial Concert held on May 9th and 10th, 7:30pm, at the Juneau-Douglas High School. Information is sparse on the concert, but the City of Juneau celebrated its Centennial Anniversary in 1981, suggesting the fundraising event may have been held on Friday and Saturday in the preceding year, 1980. Rie is a widely collected painter, known for her portrayal of daily life in Alaskan towns and small villages. While not much is known about Crondahl, he and his wife Judy were well-known in and around Juneau and spent twenty years running Crondahl's Bed & Breakfast while enjoying art, music, and bicycling. The poster has some wear to the edges along with small pinholes in each corner, commensurate with it once being hung. It is shrink-wrapped on board, which measures approximately 26" x 20" overall, with a sight view of 24" x 18" overall.
