One day in early 1951, Juan suggested to Rie that they should see if they could get jobs at the Bureau of Indian Affairs teaching in a remote native village. They applied, were accepted, and had a choice of three Alaska Native communities. The coffee table journal chronicles the experiences of artist Rie Muñoz and her husband, Juan Muñoz, Sr., while they taught at an Alaska Native village on King Island in the Bering Sea.
