An antique Easy Vacuum Electric Washer, model M, by the Syracuse Washing Machine Corporation. The washer was designed to be filled to the indented line that runs around the perimeter, followed by the addition of soap and clothing, and a fuel source on the underside would heat the water. Once plugged in with the switch flipped, the three cup vacuum cups would plunge up and down, while also rotating clockwise; the manufacture claimed the machine protected clothing better when compared to the old-fashioned method of laundering textiles by rubbing them on a washboard. Once the clothing was clean, the top wringer could be adjusted for thickness, and then turned on to allow each piece of wet and soapy clothing to be passed from front to back through the wringers, expelling excess water back into the copper basin. Once wringing was finished, items would be hung to dry on a clothesline. Patented in 1912, with serial number 516682. Tested to power on at time of cataloging; power cord is slightly frayed as shown. On castered base, it measures approximately 25" x 25" x 53.5" tall.
