  fitting name for an auction where an eighteenth-century cha
 rt of Unalaska\, a platinum diamond ring\, a woolly mammoth mo
 lar\, and a Tonka dump truck can all turn up in the same cata
 log. Across more than 450 lots\, this sale follows the intere
 sts of Alaska collectors in every direction: original art\, N
 ative-made baskets and carvings\, historical books and maps\, 
 jewelry\, fossils\, vintage toys\, music equipment\, and practic
 al finds for the home and shop. Bring a wish list\, but leave
  room for a few surprises. Alaska art provides plenty of rea
 sons to linger. An original Scott McDaniel oil painting plac
 es Mount Susitna beneath a brilliant purple\, orange\, and tea
 l sunset. Original drawings on animal hide by Iñupiaq artis
 t George Aden Ahgupuk depict caribou\, a hunter\, and scenes o
 f traditional life\, while paintings by Ellen Henne Goodale\, 
 Joan Arend Kickbush\, and other Alaska artists offer still mo
 re to explore. Prints by Byron Birdsall\, Jacquie Coté Suter
 \, Dale DeArmond\, Fred Machetanz\, and Jon Van Zyle bring fami
 liar places and wildlife into the mix. Whether you are looki
 ng for a statement piece or a small reminder of a favorite p
 lace\, the art selection rewards a closer look. The Alaska hi
 story offerings travel even farther. An 1871 U.S. Coast Surv
 ey map shows the territory ceded by Russia to the United Sta
 tes\, while a circa 1784–1785 chart of Samganooda Harbor on
  Unalaska Island draws on Captain Cook’s third voyage. Ear
 ly books include works by Robert W. Service\, John Muir\, S. H
 all Young\, and Charles Hallock. A North Star Dairy milk can 
 recalls Juneau’s past\, and Alaska statehood stamps\, aviati
 on material\, railroad pieces\, and an old Anchorage telephone
  directory capture other chapters of life here. There is his
 tory to frame\, history to read\, and history that once sat be
 side somebody’s front door. Basket collectors will find an
  especially deep selection. Yup’ik coiled grass baskets in
 clude lidded examples attributed to Agnes Tommy\, Minnie Katc
 heak\, and Mary Bavilla\, along with pieces featuring geometri
 c designs\, seal gut false embroidery\, and fur details. Athab
 ascan birch bark work includes a canoe-form basket signed by
  Dorothy Savage Joseph\, plus trays and baskets by other name
 d makers. A small Tlingit spruce root basket adds another di
 stinct weaving tradition. These pieces invite the kind of br
 owsing where you start by admiring one basket and soon find 
 yourself comparing ten. Carvings and cultural works bring an
 other remarkable range of forms and materials. Look for a wh
 alebone mask by Iñupiaq artist Bobby Nashookpuk\, an ivory f
 igural sculpture signed by Yup’ik artist Harrison Iyakitan
 \, a baleen and ivory narwhal\, and carvings of walrus\, seals\,
  birds\, whales\, and an Alaska king crab. The catalog also in
 cludes dance fans\, Yup’ik headdresses\, masks\, scrimshawed 
 baleen\, and two long toggling harpoons. Some are intricate e
 nough to study up close\; others make their impression from a
 cross the room. Natural history has a strong presence\, too. 
 Several fossilized woolly mammoth molars offer a tangible co
 nnection to the Ice Age\, joined by fossilized ivory carvings
  and specimens. A 107-inch baleen frond stands out for its s
 heer scale\, while a walrus tusk decorated with colorful scri
 mshaw images of a puffin\, eagle\, and ptarmigan brings togeth
 er natural material and Alaska wildlife art. If your shelves
  already hold rocks\, fossils\, or curiosities\, you may want t
 o check how much space is left. Jewelry ranges from everyday
  pieces to an unmistakable centerpiece: a platinum ring set 
 with a 2.5-carat lab-created marquise diamond. Gold and diam
 ond jewelry\, a pendant containing Alaska placer gold\, sterli
 ng silver\, jade\, pearls\, and vintage costume jewelry broaden
  the selection. Handbags cataloged under Louis Vuitton desig
 ns include messenger and shoulder styles\, with photographs a
 nd individual authentication notes provided in their lot des
 criptions. The rest of Treasure Trove is just as enjoyable t
 o wander through. A late-1970s Pioneer turntable\, a Fender a
 coustic-electric guitar\, Nintendo handhelds and consoles\, Am
 erican Flyer trains\, pressed-steel Tonka and Structo toys\, J

 ck kit all make appearances. There are also chainsaws\, shop 
 tools\, kitchen equipment\, a Ruana hunting knife\, and an asso
